Bus trip
These trips require a lot of bus travel. The trip north from Melbourne to Rockhampton takes all day, all night and a good part of the second day. It is important to expect this and plan for it. While the coach is big, luxurious and fitted with all the luxury features you might expect, there is only so much room in the seats to sleep in.
Video movies and music are a great way to pass the time. Group activities are also a great way to pass the time. I myself love the scenery out of the window but I admit it is not everyone's cup of tea. Perhaps the best way to pass time is to get to know your fellow travelers. The people on these trips always come from a diverse background, from all around the world. It can be very rewarding to get to know everyone. There is so much knowledge, experience and culture to be soaked up.

Trekset / Kingston's coach at Broadwater Caravan park. This quality coach is is typical of the high standard of coach that I have traveled on during my tours with Monsu.

Stops at food stops are short
so it is best to be prepared. If you need both food and to go to the toilet
you can often order your food, go to the toilet, freshen up and then get your
food which normally takes a while to prepare. The coach driver may know the
phone number of the food stop so you can often order ahead.
One bit of etiquette to note. It is generally considered inappropriate to
bring food from elsewhere into a food stop. It is rude to buy food from another
shop and eat it in the food stop. Nobody will say anything normally but the
store owners won't be happy.

The coach is a great place to get to know your fellow travelers.

Don't be surprised if you end up being asked up front to tell your life story or entertain the crowd. It is all part of the fun.

Two leaders of the tour provide entertainment.

Group activities help pass the time.
